Premier Interschools fixtures announced

Grey College, Paarl Boys’, Paarl Gim, Paul Roos and Maritzburg College will all feature in three Premier Interschools games this year.

Premier Interschools is a series of 12 matches, which feature the highest profile and most traditional interschool rugby rivalries from South Africa’s top rugby schools, which are broadcast live on SuperSport.

The 2019 season will run from April to August and feature eight of the top 10 schools for the past five years.

Top rugby schools that are making an appearance this season are Grey College (three matches), Paarl Boys’ High (three), Paul Roos (three), Paarl Gim (two), Maritzburg College (style), Affies (two) with Glenwood, Rondebosch, Bishops, Grey High, KES, Oakdale and Boland Landbou featuring in one game each.

Highlights of the calendar include a KwaZulu-Natal derby opener between Glenwood and Maritzburg as well as a north-south match between KES and Maritzburg, while familiar favourites, including the Bishops vs Rondebosch, Paarl Boys’ High vs Paarl Gim, Oakdale vs Boland and Grey College vs Grey High matches will also be broadcast.

Glenwood vs Maritzburg College (6 April, Durban)
Paarl Gim vs Affies (13 April, Paarl)
Grey College vs Paarl Boys’ (11 May, Bloemfontein)
Paul Roos vs Paarl Gim (18 May, Stellenbosch)
Paarl Boys’ vs Paul Roos (25 May, Paarl)
Bishops vs Rondebosch (8 June, Rondebosch)
Affies vs Maritzburg College (13 July, Pretoria)
Grey College vs Grey High (20 July, Bloemfontein)
KES vs Maritzburg College (27 July, Johannesburg)
Paarl Boys’ vs Paarl Gim (3 August, Paarl)
Oakdale vs Boland Landbou (10 August, Riversdale)
Paul Roos vs Grey College (17 August, Stellenbosch)
