Former Springbok Jacques Potgieter is set to leave the rugby wilderness to join the Cheetahs should he successfully complete medical testing.
The 34-year-old loose forward, who also doubles down as a lock, has not played any first-class rugby since early in 2019 when he was at Toulon.
It has been confirmed to SARugbymag.co.za that Potgieter will arrive in Bloemfontein on Friday to undergo medical and fitness tests.
Before his two-year hiatus from rugby, Potgieter was a journeyman who played for the Kings, Sharks and Vodacom Bulls in South Africa, the Waratahs in Australia, the Munakata Sanix Blues in Japan and Toulon in France. Potgieter also played three Test matches for the Springboks in 2012.
