Potch to host U17 Interprovincial Sevens

The Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds will host the top schools’ sevens players in the country in the SA Rugby U17 Interprovincial Sevens.

The 16 participating teams will feature in 24 matches on Friday, while 20 games will be played on Saturday.

Western Province, who took top honours in the tournament last year, will kick off the competition against the SA LSEN (Learners with Special Education Needs) team at 8:30am.

Each team will play three matches on Friday, while the seeding matches will be played on Saturday, and conclude with the Shield, Bowl, Plate and Cup finals.

A number of big match-ups will play out on the opening day, which will see hosts, the Leopards, taking on their neighbours, the Golden Lions, in their opening match, before lining up against the Free State and Griquas, while Western Province will meet the Blue Bulls in the big north-south derby, the Golden Lions will meet Free State, and 2017 runners-up, the Sharks, take on SWD.

08:50 – Pumas vs Blue Bulls
09:10 – Sharks vs Limpopo
09:30 – Eastern Province vs SWD
09:50 – Boland vs Border
10:10 – Valke vs Griffons
10:30 – Golden Lions vs Leopards
10:50 – Griquas vs Free State
11:10 – Western Province vs Pumas
11:30 – Blue Bulls vs SA LSEN
11:50 – Sharks vs Eastern Province
12:10 – SWD vs Limpopo
12:30 – Boland vs Valke
12:50 – Griffons vs Border
13:10 – Golden Lions vs Griquas
13:30 – Free State vs Leopards
13:50 – Western Province vs Blue Bulls
14:10 – Pumas vs SA LSEN
14:30 – Sharks vs SWD
14:50 – Eastern Province vs Limpopo
15:10 – Boland vs Griffons
15:30 – Valke vs Border
16:10 – Golden Lions vs Free State
16:30 – Leopards vs Griquas
