The Top 14 is scheduled to get underway this coming weekend, with Pollard’s club set to open their new campaign at home against Pau on Friday; this despite the fact that 11 of France’s 30 professional clubs have recorded cases of the coronavirus.
The French league have implemented several Covid-19 safely protocols, which include players being tested three days before each match and if two or more cases are recorded within one team’s set-up, then their next game will be postponed.

Speaking during a press conference launching the new Top 14 season, Pollard said that the rigorous testing is not a problem if it means they get to play rugby again.
‘I’m not tired of the tests, it’s what we have to do. We as players are tired of not playing rugby,’ he said.
‘If that’s what they want to do we’ll do anything they want us to do. We have tests every day if it’s necessary,’ he added.
