Perrett makes Super Rugby history

Amy Perrett will become the first female Super Rugby match official as an assistant referee in Saturday's match between the Rebels and Stormers.

A product of the Australian Rugby Union's referee pathways programme, Perrett became the country's top female official and was recently selected on the match officials panel for the women's event at the Olympics.

'I am really proud to be given this honour this weekend and I certainly hope this opens the door for more women to officiate at the top level across rugby,' Perrett said. 'I am focused on doing my job to the best of my ability.'

Apart from a hosts of finals on the women's sevens circuit, she has previously refereed the Women’s World Cup final and the Women’s Six Nations match between England and France.
