Former Springbok coach Peter de Villiers says he is being blocked 'everywhere I go' in South Africa.
De Villiers coached the Boks from 2008 to 2011, and is now the director of rugby at the University of the Western Cape. His contract will end with UWC's final fixture of this year's Varsity Shield.
The 57-year-old told the Sunday Times he would see what opportunities arose and would wait for 'doors to open', but didn't expect a top job in South Africa to be offered to him.
'I'm not allowed to be part of rugby in this country any more,' he said, without explaining why.
However, De Villiers denied he had become the forgotten man of South African rugby.
'I went for a jog in Pretoria the other morning and it's amazing that petrol attendants still notice me and say, “Hey coach, how are you? You are still the best.'
