A round up of what some of South Africa’s leading Sunday papers are saying, including a look at the latest transfer news involving the Vodacom Bulls.
Sunday newspaper Rapport carries two big transfer news stories, both involving the Bulls. According to Hendrik Cronje, the Bulls are keen to bring both Damian Willemse and Rikus Pretorius to Loftus Versfeld. The report states that the Bulls are hoping to use their connection with the Ruperts to convince Willemse to leave the Cape for Pretoria. Pretorius’ contract expires in October this year. Veteran back Gio Aplon could also play for the Bulls during the Currie Cup.
Meanwhile, Rapport have also linked the Bulls with a move for Cheetahs lock Sintu Manjezi. The 24-year-old has been in impressive form in the Pro14 this season and is also believed to be on Western Province’s radar.
Finally, in an update involving the Springboks, Rapport states that the July Test series against Scotland is more likely to be postponed than cancelled. SA Rugby will also do everything they can to ensure that the ‘farewell Test’ at Newlands takes place.
