Paarl Boys’ on the rampage

Paarl Boys' High ran in seven tries to beat Pretoria Boys' 45-14 on the final day of the St John's Easter Festival.

Tighthead prop Derrick Marais scored the first try for Paarl Boys' inside the first minute, which was converted by flyhalf Stefan Gouws. Inside centre Tristan Solomons and winger Christo Mostert also touched down to make it 19-0 at half-time.

Paarl Boys' started the second half as they did the first with Phillip Bester going over for his first try early on, before Ryan Lafite scored minutes later. Wian Gouws stretched the scoreline and Bester completed his brace with five minutes to play. Pretoria Boys' could only manage tries from Sipho Phiri and Mitchell Baumann.

Earlier, Klein Nederburg beat St John's College from Zimbabwe 46-17, Waterkloof finished unbeaten with a 55-15 thrashing of Noordheuwel, Scots College from Australia finished on a low with a 21-5 defeat to Jeppe, while hosts St John's recorded a moral boosting 26-13 victory over St Charles, after losses on the first two days.
