Former Springbok coach Peter de Villiers is reportedly in contention to become the new head coach of the EP Elephants from next season onwards.
According to a report in the Daily Dispatch, De Villiers is one of several candidates who have applied for the position.
The successful applicant will oversee the Elephants during next year’s SA Cup and Currie Cup campaigns. It is believed one of De Villiers’ conditions if he gets the job, is to have a say in the selection process of his backroom staff.
Applicants have until Friday, 6 November to submit their CVs, with an announcement on the new coach expected to be made within two weeks.
The primary requirement for the post is that candidates have a World Rugby Level 3 coaching certificate or its equivalent.
