On this day, 25 years ago, Ivory Coast wing Max Brito was trapped under a ruck after being tackled in their match against Tonga and suffered a broken back which left him a quadriplegic.
Today marks the grim 25-year anniversary of Max Brito’s catastrophic injury, sustained against Tonga at the 95 Rugby World Cup. Largely forgotten by the rugby world at large, the former Ivory Coast player now lives as a quadriplegic in Bordeaux, surviving on social welfare. pic.twitter.com/Pl4queJU4h
