The Lions have confirmed that flyhalf Elton Jantjies and Vodacom Bulls wing Cornal Hendricks will square off in a ‘battle of the backs’ boxing showdown on 2 September.
In a short statement released via its social media platforms, the Lions said: ‘In a historic first, the #BattleOfTheBacks is going down!’
‘Cappie Elton Jantjies will don the gloves to face the Vodacom Bulls’ Cornal Hendricks to fight it out for superiority. Fight Night will be live streamed on Facebook. ‘
According to the Lions, Jantjies, who’s stage name is Big Guns, promised that ‘there will be blood’.
