Pote Human will coach the Bulls in next year’s Super Rugby tournament after Victor Matfield turned the job down.
The Bulls confirmed Human’s appointment at a press conference at Loftus on Tuesday, along with the appointment of Alan Zondagh as director of rugby. Bok coach Rassie Erasmus will mentor the Bulls during the tournament.

Matfield, the Bulls’ preferred candidate for head coach, turned down the job he had applied for because of family reasons and the long-term security offered to him by SuperSport.
Kings coach Deon Davids was also on the three-man shortlist to replace John Mitchell.

‘It is a privilege and an honour, I have come a long way with the Bulls,’ Human said. ‘It is a huge task and I know that people will want to see results.’
