Burger Odendaal and Trevor Nyakane will form the core of the Vodacom Bulls’ leadership group during the 2020 Vodacom Super Rugby season.

The announcement was made during the Bulls’ end-of-season awards ceremony, where outgoing flyhalf Handre Pollard was named as the team’s Player of the Year.

Pollard led the side in 2019 after lock Lood de Jager, who has signed for the Sale Sharks, injured his shoulder early in the season.

Odendaal will captain the Bulls next year, with Springbok prop Nyakane named as their vice-captain.

The 26-year-old centre has previously led the team during the 2019 Currie Cup and when Pollard and Duane Vermeulen were ruled out for the match against the Blues last season.
