Six current and former Springboks have been added to the Barbarians added to the World Cup-winning trio named in the Barbarians squad for their November internationals.
Joining Makazole Mapimpi, Tendai Mtawarira and Lukhanyo Am are the veteran duo of flyhalf Morne Steyn and scrumhalf Jano Vermaak. Herschel Jantjies was originally named in the squad but has subsequently been replaced by Vermaak, his teammate at the Stormers. The famous invitational side will take on Fiji, Brazil and Wales as part of their November tour.
England coach Eddie Jones will take charge of the side for the first time in his career against Fiji on Saturday, 16 November, and will be assisted by former Vodacom Bulls coach John Mitchell. The New Zealander will then take over for the match against Brazil in Sao Paulo on 20 November, before Warren Gatland leads the team against his former side, Wales, in Cardiff on 30 November.
Sharks backs Curwin Bosch and Andre Esterhuizen join Dillyn Leyds and Marco van Staden as the other Boks involved in the tour. Former Lions captain and Scotland international Josh Strauss as well as Sunwolves prop Hencus van Wyk are further additions to the large South African contingent.
Retiring Ireland hooker Rory Best, French centre Mathieu Bastareaud and All Blacks fullback David Havili have also been called up. Joining them are Wallabies Luke Jones and Pete Samu, as well as Enrique Pieretto, Santiago Iglesias and Bautista Ezcurra [all Argentina].
