Tinus Drotské says his brother Naka saved his children’s lives during a home invasion on Thursday night.
The former Bok hooker was at Tinus’ house – on a smallholding in Kameeldrift, outside Pretoria – with Tinus’ three children and former Bok teammate Os du Randt, when four men barged in at 9:15pm.
‘Naka jumped up and stormed them, and then they shot him three times, and then they luckily fled,’ Tinus told TimesLive. ‘The children, no one else was harmed.’
Drotské was shot three times – in the right side of the chest, stomach and right arm.
When Tinus phoned Naka’s wife, Marzanne, he told her that ‘Naka saved my children’s lives’.

Du Randt raced Naka to hospital, but veered off the road, causing two tyres to burst.
