Naas Botha has been working as head coach of the India men’s and women’s Test teams since March.
Botha’s absence from the SuperSport studios has caught some viewers off guard in recent weeks, but his obligations as coach of the Indian national teams shouldn’t be forgotten.
Speaking of the challenges facing his teams, Botha said: ‘The most important thing for us is to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the players, inculcate a positive attitude and ensure that players love the sport and love going into training each day. I think we’re achieving that.
The men’s team lost 74-17 to China on 26 June before beating Indonesia 42-12 three days later.
Playing in just their second-ever Test, the women’s side beat Singapore 21-19 in what was Botha’s first game in charge.
