The Sharks have called veteran Lwazi Mvovo out of ‘retirement’ in order to help provide injury cover in the back three.
According to IOL Sport, Mvovo had quietly headed into retirement when Vodacom Super Rugby was suspended back in March, but could now be set for his swansong.
The Sharks have lost fullback Aphelele Fassi to a long-term injury, while wings Sbu Nkosi (sternum) and Madosh Tambwe (hamstring) are injured. Makazole Mapimpi has left for a short-term stint in Japan.
Mvovo, who has played exactly 200 games for the Sharks in total, can cover both wing and fullback.
