Munster needed a last-minute penalty to beat the Glasgow Warriors 25-24, while there were Pro14 wins for the Scarlets, Ulster, Zebre, Ospreys, Leinster and Cheetahs.
In the Pro14’s 2,000th match, Munster completed a remarkable comeback at home to fit the occasion as inside centre Rory Scannell kicked an 80th-minute penalty to steal a victory from Conference A leaders Glasgow.
REPORT: Scarlets’ late surge sinks Kings
After suffering an early setback when Munster prop James Cronin scored within the opening 10 minutes, Glasgow took a five-point lead into half-time thanks to a brace from scrumhalf George Horne.
The hosts’ woes deepened when flank Chris Cloete was yellow-carded shortly after the break for an off-the-ball tackle, with the Warriors punishing them through tries from Matt Fagerson and Peter Horne, which opened up a 14-point lead.
However, Munster got back into the contest when replacement wing Alex Wootton went over in the corner before scrumhalf Alby Mathewson made it a two-point game with a converted try. The comeback was completed when flank Peter O’Mahony won a turnover penalty on the halfway line and Scannell stepped up to slot the winner.
