Morné tops Saffa rich list in France

Stade Français flyhalf Morné Steyn is the best-paid South African player in the French Top 14.

According to French daily L'Équipe, Steyn earns €47,000 (about R700,000) a month.

Toulon No 8 Duane Vermeulen is second on the list with €45,000 (R670,000).

Frans Steyn (Montpellier), Rory Kockott (Castres) and Gurthrö Steenkamp (Toulouse) make €40,000 (more than R590,000).

Willem Alberts (Stade Français) earns €35,000 (about R520,000) and is sixth on the list.

Racing 92 flyhalf Dan Carter tops the overall list with €71,000 a month (just over R1-million).
