Monnas despatch Glenwood

Monument beat Glenwood 30-19 in their Mutual & Federal Premier Interschools clash in Krugersdorp.

Monnas conceded an early converted try, but took charge when flank Gavin Deport burst over the line. Flyhalf Wikus van Biljon added the extras, before slotting two penalties to make it 13-7. Glenwood struck back with a try of their own, moving to within a point of their hosts at the break.

Two further touchdowns from inside centre Ernst Beumer and No 8 Juan Lemmer and a drop goal from scrumhalf Stefan Fitzgerald gave Monnas an unassailable 18-point lead before Glenwood scored a late consolation try.
