Springbok and Lions hooker Malcolm Marx has been linked with a move to join the Docomo Red Hurricanes in Japan after the World Cup later this year.

In rounding up some of the interesting snippets of news making headlines around the world, it’s reported that Marx is set to sign for the Docomo Red Hurricanes for the 2020 season, with the option of a further one-year extension.

According to Netwerk24.com, Marx’s departure is as good as done, and if he decides to stay in Japan for two seasons, he will still be available for selection to the Springboks for the British & Irish Lions tour in 2021.

The Lions has declined to comment, but according to the report, the union has already started looking for a suitable replacement, with Stormers hooker Scarra Ntubeni at the top of the candidates list.
