Harlequins loosehead Joe Marler has been included in England’s 38-man training squad in preparation for the World Cup in Japan.
Marler had announced his international retirement last September in order to spend more time with his family. However, the 28-year-old signalled his intention to resume international duty this year and following conversations with coach Eddie Jones, has been included in England’s final training squad before the World Cup.
Gloucester flyhalf Danny Cipriani is also among those included, with the 31-year-old keeping his final hopes of playing in a World Cup alive. Piers Francis, Willi Heinz, Courtney Lawes and Ollie Thorley have also been added to the squad.
Kyle Sinckler and Marcus Smith have been released from the squad and will return to the Harlequins next week.
Injured wing Jack Nowell joins Saracens duo George Kruis and Mako Vunipola as those who will continue their rehab with the squad.
