Former Springbok assistant coach Ricardo Loubscher will join the Sharks as skills coach on a three-year deal, writes CRAIG LEWIS.
Loubscher has been helping out with the Pretoria Boys' High U14 team after finishing his four-year tenure as Bok backline coach under Heyneke Meyer.
Although Loubscher initially battled to find a full-time job since his contract with SA Rugby ended, he has always said that first prize for him and his family would be to continue coaching in South Africa.
He will now join the Sharks’ coaching team from Wednesday, with the Durban-based franchise confirming his appointment and that Robert du Preez will serve as head coach during the Currie Cup Premier Division.
'Having previously played at the Sharks, Ricardo will be making a welcome return to Durban in his new role as skills coach. He has enjoyed success in his coaching roles with the Bulls and Springboks and we look forward to having him join our set-up,' said Sharks director of rugby Gary Gold.
The Premier Division is set to kick off on 5 August.
