The Lions have confirmed that they have begun discussions with Kwagga Smith as they look to reacquire the services of the Springbok flank.
This past weekend Smith was linked with a return to the Blitzboks set-up in order to make a play for Olympic squad selection, while there was also the suggestion that the Sharks were interested in luring him to Durban.
The 26-year-old joined Japanese club side Yamaha Jubilo on a permanent basis after a successful World Cup campaign with the Springboks in 2019, and now it appears the Lions will hope to have him back in Johannesburg – perhaps after another sevens stint.
