Lions centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury against the Stormers.
According to The Star, the 22-year-old went for an MRI scan on Monday, which revealed a torn collateral ligament in his right knee and damage to his posterior lateral corner in his right knee.
Janse van Rensburg, who has scored five tries in six Super Rugby matches this season, will be assessed by a knee specialist to determine how long he will be sidelined for.
In some good news for the Lions, fullback Andries Coetzee passed a concussion test on Monday and has started the Return To Play programme.
Scrumhalf Dillon Smit, who had a muscle tear, passed a strength test and will be running rehab this week.
