The Lions have unveiled eye-catching home and away jerseys for the 2016 Vodacom Super Rugby season.

The design represents the 'pride of Johannesburg', with the Joburg skyline emblazoned across the front.

The home jersey sports the familiar colours of red and white, while the black and gold away jersey utilises a golden skyline to resemble the birth of the city during the gold rush, and a golden sunrise to reflect a new era for the Lions.

'Seven months of research, design, development and more went into the making of this jersey,' explained Evert Ferreira, the brand manager of Canterbury South Africa. 'We feel we’ve achieved our objective in developing a technically advanced jersey that brings the pride of Johannesburg to life.'

The new jerseys will be available at the Fourways Sportsmans Warehouse on 5 December, and at all retailers from the 12th.
