Ruan Vermaak has joined the Lions in Melbourne for the remainder of their Australasian tour as the injury replacement for Vincent Tshituka.
Flank Tshituka has returned to South Africa after sustaining an ankle sprain in the Lions’ match against the Waratahs on Friday.
Vermaak is a utility forward who plays lock, flank and No 8. The U21 player has already earned seven Vodacom Super Rugby caps for the Lions in 2019.
The Lions take on the Rebels next week, followed by matches against the Blues and Highlanders before returning to South Africa.
