Flank Jaco Kriel has confirmed his return to the Lions on a three-year deal from 2020 to 2022.
The 30-year-old has been plying his trade at Gloucester under former Lions boss Johan Ackermann since 2018, but he failed to break into the team as a regular due to several injury setbacks.
‘I’m proud to announce that I’ve rejoined the Lions on a three-year deal,’ Kriel said about his move.
‘It’s really good to be home and to start my new journey and to continue [playing] with the boys I love. I can’t wait to see all the fans fill up Emirates Airline Park like back in the day.’
The Lions started their Vodacom Super Rugby campaign with a 38-8 loss against the Jaguares.
