The Leopards are willing to forfeit their away games in the Currie Cup First Division due to financial constraints.
The decision comes after SA Rugby decided to cut the budgets of smaller unions by 52%.
The Leopards told Netwerk24 they now do not have the budget to cover all their travelling expenses and are considering simply forfeiting their away games against Namibia, Border and Eastern Province.
The dire financial situation has also resulted in the union moving away from their 98-year-old stadium Olën Park as they have been unable to pay for the necessary maintenance.
The team will play their home games at Fanie du Toit, the University of Potchefstroom’s home ground.
