Fullback Willie le Roux says he is unsure whether he’ll be available for the Springboks’ home Tests against the Wallabies and All Blacks.
Despite conceding a yellow card in the 66th minute, Le Roux played a starring role for the Boks in their 36-34 win in Wellington.
Ideally, coach Rassie Erasmus would want him in the mix for their remaining Rugby Championship Tests at home. But with the tournament having a bye this week, Le Roux is contractually obliged to return to Wasps.
He will in all likelihood feature for them against the Sale Sharks on Saturday and has hinted that he is unsure of what’ll happen the following week when the Boks take on Australia in Port Elizabeth.
‘It’s a tough one [to answer] at the moment, but you never know what can happen,’ Le Roux told Netwerk24.
The 29-year-old also admitted that he thought his yellow card would cost the Boks the game against the All Blacks.
‘When I was sent off, I thought to myself that I’ve let the team down and if we lose, it would be my fault,’ he explained. ‘Luckily it didn’t work out that way. I owe all our players a beer for that.’
