Willie le Roux will start at fullback for the Cheetahs against the Griffons at Old Greys on Wednesday.
Le Roux injured his ankle against the Stormers at Newlands last Friday, but has recovered for his side's final pre-season match.
Joe Pietersen, who missed the Stormers game with injury, will start at flyhalf.
Meanwhile, Johann Sadie and Heinrich Brüssow have returned from their Japanese club, the Docomo Red Hurricanes. The centre has been named on the bench for Wednesday's match (4pm kick-off), but the flanker is struggling with concussion and is not in the 24-man squad.
The Cheetahs begin their Vodacom Super Rugby campaign against the Sharks at Kings Park on 14 February.
