Samoa Sevens player Gordon Langkilde has been charged with assault following a tunnel bust-up at the World Cup that left three Wales players with injuries.
Langkilde was arrested after attacking two Welsh players in the tunnel after Samoa’s 24-19 Challenge quarter-final loss in San Francisco on Saturday.

The assault, described by Welsh players as unprovoked, left Tom Williams with tournament-ending injuries and resulted in Langkilde being thrown out of the tournament by World Rugby.
A statement from the San Francisco Police Department said Langkilde had been charged with aggravated assault and battery causing serious bodily injury.
‘While an arrest has been made, this remains an active and ongoing investigation,’ the statement read.
The police said that all three Welsh players suffered facial injuries, while the youngest of the trio ― a 21-year-old ― suffered broken facial bones.
