Pat Lambie has been ruled out of the Super Rugby playoffs after failing to appear against the Sunwolves on Friday night.
Lambie, who suffered a concussion during the Springboks' first Test against Ireland on 11 June, failed to pass a late fitness test before the Sharks' last conference stage game.
The flyhalf has only made three Super Rugby appearances this season, and is therefore unable to play for the Sharks in the playoffs.
Lambie had to make four appearances to be eligible, which is why he was initially bracketed with Curwin Bosch on the Sharks bench.
