Pat Lambie's game management behind a dominant Sharks pack made the difference in Durban on Saturday, writes BRENTON CHELIN.
While Lambie didn't enjoy the best evening off the kicking tee, his kicking out of hand was superb, allowing the Sharks to play the game in the right areas of the field and secure a bonus-point victory.
Marnitz Boshoff did very little wrong during his 64 minutes on the park, but on an evening where his forwards failed to secure any quality ball, his influence was nullified.
Lambie showed great vision and skill to find Odwa Ndungane with a cross-kick for the Sharks' opening try, while he constantly gave his chasers a chance with the weight of his kicks.
It was a composed showing from the Springbok flyhalf and bodes well for the year ahead and the World Cup, where the conditions experienced on Saturday will be commonplace.
