Springbok captain Siya Kolisi is set to be managed back to action in Saturday’s World Cup warm-up against Argentina in Pretoria.
Kolisi made his comeback from injury in Western Province’s Currie Cup win over the Pumas at Newlands last Saturday.
While he will rejoin the Springbok set-up this week, having been involved in the camp before the team left for New Zealand, Kolisi looks most likely to play from the bench rather than start against Argentina.
Rassie Erasmus hinted at as much upon the team’s return from Salta, where they claimed the Rugby Championship for the first time.
Erasmus confirmed that Kolisi will be involved at Loftus Versfeld, but will only get a ‘limited time of minutes’.
The Springboks’ starting lineup is likely to have an experimental feel to it, with a number of players getting a final chance to perform before the World Cup in September.
Erasmus has to name his final squad for the global showpiece by 26 August.
