Cheslin Kolbe produced a dazzling two-try performance to guide Toulouse to a 36-8 win over Ulster in their Champions Cup quarter-final showdown on Sunday.
Kolbe showed his class as he delivered a statement display to sink Ulster. The Springbok wing outplayed Jacob Stockdale twice in the first half when he stepped around the Irish wing to score two in the first half.
Kolbe’s double score put the hosts 15-3 up at the break and it would be more Toulouse dominance after the resumption. Tries in the second period from scrumhalf Antoine Dupont, centre Pita Ahki and fullback Thomas Ramos ensured Toulouse’s spot in the last four of Europe’s elite club competition.
Meanwhile in the last quarter-final, the Exeter Chiefs overpowered their English rivals the Northampton Saints 38-18 to seal a maiden Champions Cup semi-final berth.
Another South African, flank Jacques Vermeulen, was the star of the show as he produced a scintillating two-try performance for Exeter.
