The possibility that the Springboks would be underdone in a three-Test series against the British & Irish Lions was ruled out by none more so than Cheslin Kolbe, according to SARugbymag.co.za readers.
A South Africa A team packed with the Bok heroes of the 2019 Rugby World Cup were fast out the blocks in a 17-13 win over the Lions at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday.
Highlights: Dominant SA A down B&I Lions
Readers were duly polled on which player had stood out the most, and it was Kolbe stepping Chris Harris to send captain Lukhanyo Am over for a try that won 36% of the vote – just as he had earlier in the week when readers voted for the player they were most eager to see back in action.
Second place went to Am (24%) while Franco Mostert and rookies Joe Dweba and Japser Wiese followed with 10%, 9% and 7%, respectively.
Interestingly, readers weren’t impressed by the length-of-the-field try set up by Damian de Allende (5%) and scored by Sbu Nkosi (3%).
