Rory Kockott made some positive contributions despite the World XV's defeat at Newlands on Saturday, writes JON CARDINELLI.
Kockott put the Springboks under pressure early in the first half with his aggressive defence around the fringes. The South African scrumhalf was also a force with ball in hand, whether he was distributing to his backs or initiating a break from deep within his own 22.
Fourie du Preez did some good things when he came on in the second half. It was in those final 20 minutes where the momentum was with the Boks, and Du Preez directed the play well.
However, it would be unfair to hand Du Preez the bragging rights on the basis of a 20-minute cameo. Considering the inconsistency of the World XV forwards, Kockott did well to make an impact in this fixture.
