Pumas lock Hugo Kloppers Hugo Kloppers
Published on September 13, 2018 | Leave a response

Hugo Kloppers will captain the Pumas in their Currie Cup clash against the Blue Bulls in Pretoria on Friday.

The lock takes over from regular skipper Hennie Skorbinski, who picked up an injury in the loss against the Sharks last weekend.

There are four changes to the starting XV, including three in the backline.

Former Western Province fullback Devon Williams replaces the injured Gerrit Smith, while Sharks product Morné Joubert makes his first start of the season in place of Skorbinski.

As a result, both Niel Maritz and Ryan Nell shift up a spot to form the centre combination.

There is just one change among the forwards as Andrew Beerwinkel comes into the front row for Marné Coetzee.

Pumas – 15 Devon Williams, 14 Morné Joubert, 13 Neil Maritz, 12 Ryan Nell, 11 Ruwellyn Isbel, 10 Christopher Smith, 9 Stefan Ungerer, 8 Willie Engelbrecht, 7 Stefan Willemse, 6 Marnus Schoeman, 5 Hugo Kloppers (c), 4 Le Roux Roets, 3 Andrew Beerwinkel, 2 Marko Janse van Rensburg, 1 Khwezi Mona.
Subs: 16 Simon Westraadt, 17 De-Jay Terblanche, 18 Hilton Lobberts, 19 Francois Kleinhans, 20 Abrie Griesel, 21 Kobus Marais, 22 Henko Marais.
