Springbok hooker Malcolm Marx received a player rating of 10 from the New Zealand Herald after his outstanding performance at Newlands.
According to alloutrugby.com’s stats, the Bok hooker made 92m from 13 carries against the All Blacks on Saturday. He made two tackle breaks, one of which resulted in a try to Jean-Luc du Preez, and scored a try himself from a driving maul. Marx also won four turnovers on the ground and made 15 tackles.
In giving Marx a perfect 10, New Zealand Herald writer Chris Rattue said the hooker was ‘magnificent’.
‘Loads of brutal runs, turnovers, tackles,’ he added. ‘Helped make a try, scored another. Unbelievable game – a new world star?’
