Stefan Ungerer will make his first start for the Kings in one of six changes to their starting lineup to face Leinster in Port Elizabeth on Sunday.
There are three changes to the backline that was involved in the Kings’ loss to the Scarlets last weekend. Ungerer comes straight into the run-on XV after linking up with the squad from the Pumas following the conclusion of the Currie Cup.
It will be his first appearance for the Kings since 2017 and his Pro14 debut.
Tertius Kruger will partner Harlon Klaasen in the midfield, while Michael Makase replaces Bjorn Basson – who is unavailable for personal reasons – on the right wing, shifting Yaw Penxe to the left.
Up front, Justin Forwood returns to the front row. In another rotational switch, Stephan Greeff will pair up with captain JC Astle in the second row as Schalk Oelofse is rested.
A new loose-trio combination sees Martinus Burger joining openside flanker Stephan de Wit and No 8 Ruaan Lerm following the injury to Andisa Ntsila last week.
On the bench, CJ Velleman returns from injury while former Griquas tighthead Nicolaas Oosthuizen could also make his Pro14 debut.
