Deon Davids says discarded Bulls scrumhalf Rudy Paige would strengthen his Kings squad.
Paige was a shock omission from the Bulls’ Super Rugby squad announced by John Mitchell on Wednesday, with Ivan van Zyl, Embrose Papier and André Warner the three scrumhalves.
However, Davids has indicated that he would be happy to attain the services of the 13-cap Springbok, should the opportunity present itself.
‘He has a good pass, is a good defender, he can kick and has good leadership characteristics,’ the Kings coach told Netwerk24.
‘If you look at the circumstances we find ourselves in, then I think a national scrumhalf with so much experience can definitely mean something to us.
‘We’re constantly in communication [with SA Rugby] on how we can strengthen the Kings.’
The Kings, who have yet to win a Pro14 match, currently have Godlen Masimla, Rudi van Rooyen and Rowan Gouws as the scrumhalves in their squad.
