Former Springbok and Sharks No 8 Ryan Kankowski has returned to the sevens setup following his stint in Japan.

Kankowski, who plays for the Toyota Industries Shuttles, has a full-time contract with the Blitzboks until August, when the Olympic Games will be staged in Brazil.

The Blitzboks are currently preparing for this weekend’s Wellington leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series, which will be followed by the Sydney tournament.

There is every chance Kankowski could come into the reckoning for the subsequent legs in the USA and Canada, which take place in March, with the athletic forward having been identified as a player who could add something different to the Blitzboks squad.
