Italy scored five tries in their 35-10 win against the Springbok Women in wet and muddy conditions in Prato on Sunday.
Italy’s strong forward play and patience on attack steered them to victory, with wing Sofia Stefan scoring a try in each half.
In stark contrast to the hosts, the Springbok Women battled to gain momentum due to errors at crucial times and ill-discipline.
Centre Zintle Mpupha scored the visitors only try of the match, with her midfield partner Demi Nel kicking the conversion and adding a penalty.
