CJ Stander, Quinn Roux and Rob Herring have been included in Ireland’s 34-man squad for this year’s maiden Autumn Nations Cup.
Apart from his selection of the the three South African-born players, coach Andy Farrell has also picked three uncapped players in backs James Lowe (Leinster), Shane Daly (Munster) and Billy Burns (Ulster).
The squad will reassemble at the IRFU High Performance Centre in Blanchardstown on Thursday in preparation for Ireland’s upcoming Test matches.
Ireland will play Wales at home on Friday, 13 November and then travel to London to play England at Twickenham on Saturday, 21 November.
The following Sunday, Ireland will host Georgia at the Aviva Stadium and will complete the series of international fixtures on Saturday, 5 December against either Fiji, France, Italy or Scotland.
