Lock Blake Enever is one of six uncapped players in the Wallabies’ 32-man squad for their end-of-year tour.
Injuries to Rory Arnold (quad) and Izack Rodda (shoulder), have opened the door for Enever and Matt Phillip’s inclusion to bolster Australia’s second-row stocks.
Billy Meakes, Izaia Perese, Jack Maddocks and Liam Wright are the other rookies in the squad, but Maddocks and Wright have been named as development players.
Israel Folau is not in the squad as he has been granted time off to rest.
Other notable absentees are Duncan Paia’aua, Kyle Godwin, Kane Douglas, James Slipper and Jake Gordon. Flyhalf Quade Cooper has also been overlooked by coach Michael Cheika.
The Wallabies take on Japan in Yokohama, before departing for Europe where they’ll take on Wales, England and Scotland.
