Injuries force Argentina reshuffle

Published on September 7, 2016 | Leave a response

Matías Moroni will start on the wing in one of three changes to Argentina's run-on XV for this Saturday's Test against the All Blacks in Hamilton.

Injuries to Manuel Montero, flank Juan Manuel Leguizamón and lock Tomás Lavanini have forced coach Daniel Hourcade to reshuffle his team following their 26-24 win over the Springboks in Salta.

Moroni replaces Manuel Montero in the back three, but starts on the right wing with Santiago Cordero shifting to the left.

In the pack, flank Javier Ortéga Desio comes in for Leguizamón, and lock Guido Petti is elevated from the bench in the absence of Lavanini, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Loose forward Marcos Kremer, who represented Argentina at the U20 World Rugby Championship, will make his senior debut if he comes on off the bench.

Argentina – 15 Joaquín Tuculet, 14 Matías Moroni, 13 Matías Orlando, 12 Juan Martín Hernández, 11 Santiago Cordero, 10 Nicolás Sánchez, 9 Martín Landajo, 8 Facundo Isa, 7 Javier Ortéga Desio, 6 Pablo Matera, 5 Matías Alemanno, 4 Guido Petti, 3 Ramiro Herrera, 2 Agustín Creevy (c), 1 Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro.
Subs: 16 Julian Montoya, 17 Lucas Noguera, 18 Enrique Pieretto, 19 Marcos Kremer, 20 Leonardo Senatore, 21 Tomás Cubelli, 22 Santiago Gonzalez Iglesias, 23 Ramiro Moyano.
