All Blacks duo TJ Perenara and Dane Coles will share the captaincy for the Hurricanes during the 2020 Vodacom Super Rugby season.
The duo have collectively played 237 games for the Hurricanes and continue to bring a wealth of experience to the team.
Coles has been a team pillar for the last four years, captaining the side since 2016. In his absence, Perenara has shown he is also a natural leader by stepping into the role.
This experience will be vital for the Wellington-based side, especially given the high-profile departures from the club which have disrupted their pre-season.
Hurricanes coach John Plumtree left last month to take up a role as All Blacks assistant under new head coach Ian Foster, with Jason Holland stepping in as his replacement.
This came just as star loose-forward Ardie Savea was ruled out for most of the season with a knee injury, while Beauden Barrett moved to the Blues.
