Sevu Reece will make his second Test start for the All Blacks in one of five changes to their starting lineup to face Australia in Auckland on Saturday.
There are five changes on the whole as coach Steve Hansen looks for a response following the heavy loss to the Wallabies in Perth last weekend.
Two of those changes come in the pack as Nepo Lualala replaces experienced tighthead prop Owen Franks, who has been left out of the match-day squad entirely.
With Brodie Retallick still injured and Scott Barrett banned following his red card in Perth, Patrick Tuipulotu will form the second-row pairing alongside Sam Whitelock.
In the backline, Sonny Bill Williams has been recalled and will start at inside centre causing Anton Lienert-Brown to shift to the No 13 jersey with Jack Goodhue out injured.
Reiko Ioane and Ben Smith have both been left out of the match-day 23 and are replaced by George Bridge and Sevu Reece.
Beauden Barrett and Richie Mo’unga will continue at fullback and flyhalf, respectively.
