Lions lash Griquas

The Golden Lions scored six tries to beat Griquas 46-8 in Kimberley on Saturday.

The visitors led 13-3 at the break thanks to a 12th-minute try from Andries Coetzee, and a conversion and two penalties from Ruan Combrinck.

Jaco Kriel and Franco Mostert then scored tries to make it 25-3, before Carel Greeff finally got over for Griquas.

Kwagga Smith secured the bonus point for the Lions when he scored a 67th-minute try, and that was followed soon after by Kriel's second.

Combrinck then capped off a comprehensive win with his team's sixth try just before full-time.
